Misunderstood

I sit and watch you from a distance and boy do I see me. You are so beautiful, on the inside and out. Your ability to love another person is overwhelming yet few appreciate it, those that are lucky enough to receive it should cherish it like no other because it’s one of a kind. I watch you make the same mistakes I made, but how can you help it, you learned it from me. So head strong and determined, yet your heart breaks at the slightest ounce of pain. Nobody would know it though, because you hide it so well. Your ability to throw up that wall is amazing, but I understand all too well, because you get that from me too. You light up the room when you laugh, I don’t know that I have EVER seen anything more beautiful. When you smile, really smile, your eyes dance with life, pulling anyone that surrounds you in, yet you sell yourself short. You are your own worst enemy, because you do not see the amazing person that you are. There isn’t anything in this world that you can’t do if you chose to do it. Trust me, I have seen your persistence when you are after something that you really want. You fight so hard for others, picking them up when they fall, being a true friend that most of the one’s you are friends with don’t even deserve, yet, you don’t do the same for yourself. You are such a giving person, in fact you give so much of yourself that nobody see’s that when it breaks you, it cuts so deep. I know this, because you get that from me too. So different but so much alike, daughter of mine. I can’t find words to describe the strength you have, it continues to amaze me as I see you fall, knocked off your feet by life, time and time again, but you always get back up and stand tall, ignoring your wounds and waiting for the next challenge. Be true to yourself, because you have SO much to give, so much love to offer, and you are so much more deserving that what you think you are. I believe in you, I’ll always believe in you, my beautiful, strong, scarred, fragile, head strong, crazy, loving, loyal, wonderful daughter.
