Not Forgotten

There she is, the one that feels left behind,
She’s got to have a lot on her mind’
She thinks shes left out, like nobodys home,
not knowing she’s the strong one, and she is NOT alone;
As she sits in her room, trying to feel alive,
Her Mama is depending on her, just to survive.
She loves her very much, even if she thinks that she don’t,
Sometimes she wants to tell her, but she usually won’t.
There is nothing like a daughter; to hold near and dear;
I still remember our first year;
She was such a gift to me, someone that I could really love;
Twirling her hair around my finger, so I could fall asleep;
She had no idea how much of a comfort she was, so I wouldn’t weep.
She has always been my savior, in more ways than one;
An angel at heart, stubborn as a bull, my love shes always won.
She always loved me back; even when I was wrong;
That has happened more than once, thats why she’s so strong.
I hope she knows what she means to me, my first born, my baby girl;
She’s grown into a beautiful woman, that sometimes I still need to twirl,
her hair around my fingers, to keep going in this world.
I love you Shana, more than you could know,
It’s me and you against the world, hold on cause here we go.
